Community FAQs

What is a community, and how does it benefit me?

The community is comprised of all MeeVee users. When members of the community rate shows, write reviews and participate in discussions, they can help you discover great new things to watch. The community also allows you to identify and contact other users who share similar interests as you do so you can share recommendations and keep in touch via the MeeVee messaging system.

Can anyone see my personal/private information?

By default anyone can see your profile. If you would prefer to hide your profile from other users, go to “My Settings” then to “Permissions and Display Settings” and click “Edit." Select "no one" and save the changes.

What if I don't want other users to see my profile?

Go to "My Settings" then to "Permissions and Display Settings" and click "Edit." Select "no one" and save the changes.

What is the compatibility rating?

People whose interests are very similar to yours will have a high compatibility with you. Low compatibility means your selected interests differ. To find out more, look at "My Neighbors" on your profile page.

What does being a "Friend" mean?

Being a friend means to always be supportive of someone and to never judge them. Just kidding. You can invite other MeeVee users to be your friends so you can keep in touch with them, message them and add each other to your "Friends" section on your profile pages. Just click on the "Add to friends" link on top of a users' profile page and it will send an invitation.

Can I contact any user?

Yes, you certainly can. You can send a message to anybody who is part of the MeeVee community. Just go to their profile page and click on the "Send a message" link at the top. After you send your note, it will appear in the user's Inbox.

Can any user contact me?

Any registered user can contact you. If you're esperiencing any problems with a user, please contact us.

How do I change my nickname and add a picture to my profile?

If you'd like to change your nickname please go to "My Settings," then "Member Info". Click "Edit" and type the new nickname in the box and save your changes. If your chosen nickname is available, the change will be made immediately. If your nickname has been taken you will have to specify a new one. NOTE: Your nickname cannot be changed, so choose wisely! To upload a picture, go to the "My Avatar" section.
